Job summary

Derby City Gaming & Hotel in Louisville, KY is seeking a Front Desk Clerk for the 3PM - 11PM shift. You will check guests in/out, issue keys, and handle guest questions while balancing cash and reservations in Visual One.

This role requires strong customer service skills and basic money handling experience. You’ll interact with guests across the casino and hotel facilities, coordinate with housekeeping, and ensure a smooth, welcoming guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior hotel front desk experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in money handling required.

Responsibilities

• Greeting, registering, and assigning rooms to hotel guests.
• Verifying guest identification and determining payment method.
• Issuing room keys and communicating instructions to bellhops.
• Maintaining records of room availability and guest accounts.
• Balancing cash and processing payments on the property system (Visual One).
• Making and confirming reservations and answering calls via PBX.
• Inquiring about hotel, casino, dining, shopping, and entertainment services.
• Notifying housekeeping/maintenance when rooms are vacated or need attention.
