Job summary

The GRAMMY Museum in downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Guest Services Associate to support information, ticketing, and retail operations in a dynamic, visitor‑centered setting.

This temp-to-hire role requires weeknights and weekends with at least 30 hours per week; flexibility is available. You will guide guests, process ticket sales, manage capacity, and assist with store duties and guest tours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail experience with merchandise displays or promotions preferred.
• Strong cash handling and POS experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide information to guests about the GRAMMY Museum.
• Assist guests with ticket purchases using TicketSocket/Universe and cash handling.
• Track timed ticket allotments to monitor capacity limits.
• Oversee ticket operations in the manager's absence and open/close booths as needed.
• Accurately reconcile all ticket sales at the end of each day.
• Work with operations to monitor crowd flow and capacity.
• Assist store manager with store duties, opening/closing, and stocking merchandise.
• Recommend and help locate merchandise for guests.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstation and retail store.
• Assist management with special projects and tours for groups.
• Monitor galleries for order, report issues, and enforce policies.

The GRAMMY Museum is an exciting and interactive celebration of the power of music occupying a vibrant space in downtown Los Angeles. Four floors of cutting-edge exhibits, interactive experiences, and films provide a one-of-a-kind visitor experience - engaging, educational, celebratory, and inspirational.

The Guest Services Associate is a highly motivated individual who is engaged in the world of music. You will be responsible for providing information about the GRAMMY Museum to guests and visitors, as well as assist management in all matters related to ticketing and retail store operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provide information to guests and visitors about the GRAMMY Museum.
• Assist customers with ticket purchases by using TicketSocket/Universe and cash handling.
• Keep track of timed ticket allotments to monitor the museum’s capacity limits.
• Oversee ticket operations in manager’s absence and follow procedures for opening/closing ticket booths.
• Accurately reconcile all ticket sales at the end of each business day.
• Work closely with our operations staff to monitor crowd flow and capacity limits.
• Assist store manager with all store duties, including opening/closing retail store and ensure store is maintained and stocked.
• Recommend, select, and help locate merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstation and retail store at all times.
• Assist management with special projects.
• Give tours to groups of adults or students as needed.
• Monitor galleries: Stay in and patrol assigned areas regularly; Ensure exhibits are clean, orderly, and undisturbed; Report maintenance issues (lighting, signage, etc.); Provide directions and basic information about exhibits; Answer visitor questions in a friendly, professional manner; Enforce museum policies (no touching, no flash photography, etc.); Support accessibility services for visitors.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail experience including with retail store merchandise displays and promotions.
• Strong cash handling experience and experience operating a POS/register system.
• A dynamic and positive personality with demonstrated professionalism and respect when dealing with clients, customers, and team members.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the desire to lead by example.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills. Bilingual language skills a plus.
• Must be punctual (for reporting to work and returning from breaks).
