Job description

A Guest Services Agent is responsible for greeting and registering guests and checking guests out of the hotel, contributing to the hotel's ongoing commitment to exceptional guest service and financial success.

What will I be doing?

As a Guest Services Agent, your responsibilities include:

  1. Greeting guests and completing the registration process: Inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirming guest details and room rates, selecting rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing welcome packets, and guiding guests to their rooms.
  2. Assisting guests with check-out: Ensuring accurate billing for rooms and services, handling payments via the point-of-sale system, managing cash, credit, and debit transactions, converting foreign currency, making change, and processing gift certificates and cards.
  3. Demonstrating hotel knowledge: Providing information on room categories, rates, packages, promotions, local area, and general hotel services; answering guest inquiries.
  4. Upselling hotel services and facilities: Using techniques to promote hotel offerings and maximize occupancy.
  5. Responding to guest inquiries and resolving issues: Addressing guest requests promptly and courteously.
  6. Handling guest complaints: Conducting research, resolving issues, and negotiating solutions to ensure guest satisfaction.
  7. Managing messages: Receiving, inputting, retrieving, and relaying guest messages.
