Target is hiring a Security Specialist in the Assets Protection team. The role focuses on protecting guests, team members and brand by applying intelligence-led security, crisis response, and de-escalation techniques.

The position requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and licensure as applicable. It involves flexible shifts, teamwork, and strong communication with handheld scanners and surveillance systems.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience.
• Assist guests in finding what they need and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest interaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team efforts and assist peers when needed.
• Promote a physical security culture across store and exterior areas.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Use de-escalation tactics to handle incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support.
• Perform receipt checks to prevent theft and communicate trends.
• Document incidents in the case management system per AP policy.
• Understand and use Target's video surveillance system.
• Work safely and comply with safety policies and training.
