Sonesta Hotels International Corporation in Rosemont, IL is seeking a Security Officer to protect guests, employees and assets while enforcing security policies and conducting patrols. The role supports a safe hotel environment and requires adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities include investigating incidents, responding to emergencies, and assisting guests with safety-related inquiries, while maintaining Sonesta service standards. Mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to adhere to grooming standards.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously, and run as warranted.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle during all hours and in all weather conditions.
• Ability to understand and execute safety and emergency procedures (fire, crowd control, inclement weather, bomb threats).
• Ability to operate emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, wheel chairs, respirators).
• Ability to lift, carry, and store approx. 50 lbs.
• Ability to lift and move in emergencies.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs/ladder, reach.
• Ability to push/pull approx. 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature.
• Ability to use communication equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests and employees.
• Ability to interact with guests and staff courteously and empathetically.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta service in all guest interactions while upholding G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Perform hotel security functions including fire prevention and safety checks.
• Investigate thefts, accidents and incidents on the property.
• Prevent losses of company and guest property due to theft or criminal activity.
• Ensure a safe and tranquil environment for guests and employees.
• Assist guests and colleagues with security and safety inquiries.
• Resolve guest and employee safety-related complaints.
• Conduct floor patrols and secure facilities during non-operating hours.
• Monitor activities to detect criminal activity and loss.
• Complete reports related to accidents or issues on property.
