Job summary

The Rooms Inspector at Shamin Hotels in Virginia Beach ensures guest rooms cleaned by attendants meet brand and company standards and are ready for sale. This QA role focuses on inspecting rooms, identifying deficiencies, and confirming readiness before guest check-in.

Responsibilities include verifying cleanliness, stocking amenities, updating room status, and reporting issues to housekeeping. Weekend and holiday availability is required, with shifts varying in time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous housekeeping experience required.
• Able to communicate in English, verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in applying quality standards.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspects cleaned and vacant guest rooms against brand and company cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Identifies and documents deficiencies (cleanliness, setup, amenities, maintenance issues) and returns rooms for correction as needed.
• Confirms rooms are fully stocked with amenities, linens, and supplies before releasing as guest-ready.
• Updates room status in the property system so front desk can assign clean rooms promptly.
• Reports maintenance or engineering issues found during inspection to the appropriate team.
• Communicates recurring quality issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor for coaching and follow-up.
