Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Reservations Agent to handle all telephone inquiries and reservations, promote hotel services, and help maximize room revenues. This on-site role requires excellent English communication, prior hotel experience preferred, and proficiency with Opera PMS and Microsoft Office.

The position offers comprehensive benefits and a starting rate of $18 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate proficiently in English (written and verbal).
• Prior hotel experience preferred.
• Opera PMS experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Must have a professional telephone manner.
• To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with all staff.
• Must be able to work seated at least 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to speak and hear clearly to communicate with others by phone and in person.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming external and internal phone calls in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Perform daily monitoring of reservations, ensuring timely and accurate blocking of rooms based on guest bookings, cancellations, and modifications.
• Maintain knowledge of room rates, packages, and discounts via hotel website and third parties.
• Enter guest reservations from third-party websites and organize/filing of back-up.
• Provide guests with information concerning the hotel and its services.
• Process all incoming reservations via phone, email, fax, or interdepartmental correspondence.
• Process special guest requests and update reservations accordingly.
• Maintain potential and current guest profile information.
• Follow up with guest-related questions or issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Multitask efficiently across multiple computer programs.
• Maintain professional appearance and cordial attitude toward guests and staff.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Sales to meet guest needs promptly.
• Process special billing requests and protect guest privacy.
• This is an on-property hourly position with a start rate of $18/hr based on experience. Schedule is typically Monday through Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm with occasional nights/weekends.
