Job summary

IU Health at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis seeks a professional concierge to warmly greet patients and visitors, answer questions, and provide directions and information. The role supports a positive patient experience during the 11pm–7am night shift, with an expectation of flexible coverage across department locations as needed.

Responsibilities include guiding families, assisting with directions, and communicating with staff via hospital computer systems.

Qualifications

Overview

Location: Riley Hospital - primarily coverage in Emergency Department but may float to other areas if there is a business need.

Hours: 11pm-7am - may work an average of 24 hrs/wk weeknights and weekends depending on the needs of the department

Sets the tone for an exceptional experience by welcoming all guests to our organization in a friendly, helpful manner. Serves as an information resource by answering questions, providing accurate up-to-date information and giving directions to areas within the hospital and any adjoining medical facilities. Responsible for being a culture champion by embracing and demonstrating the mission and vision of the organization. Requires a concierge level customer service attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize computer systems efficiently to access and communicate information.
• Escort patients and family members to various locations throughout the hospital.
• Assist out-of-town and out-of-state visitors by providing information about the hospital, local community, and surrounding resources

Must have

• Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others.
• Flexibility to work at different locations as needed.
• Comfortable initiating and engaging in conversations with patients, families, and visitors.
• Ability to remain active throughout the shift, including walking approximately 10,000-15,000 steps per day.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required.

• Previous concierge level customer service experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience involving patient/public contact preferred.
