Job summary

American Social in Orlando is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests, manage the waiting list and seat guests promptly. You will use OpenTable to maintain proper flow, coordinate with servers and managers, and keep the host area stocked and clean.

You should be able to communicate clearly in English, work late shifts, and support weekend/holiday operations. Prior hosting or restaurant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Ability to work late-night shifts (potentially 12 AM–3 AM).
• Alcohol awareness certification (ServSafe/TIPS) a plus.
• Food handling certificate a plus.
• Fluent in English (speak, read, write).
• Availability for weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they enter the restaurant.
• Seat guests, manage waiting list and notify when seating is available.
• Use seating system to ensure guest flow and communicate updates to managers and guests.
• Coordinate with servers, managers and other staff on table availability and party sizes.
• Keep host area stocked with menus, silverware and supplies; maintain sanitation standards.
• Assist with pre-shift meetings, bussing, resetting tables, and take-out orders as needed.
• Provide menu knowledge and answer guest questions about items.
