Job summary

JW Marriott Atlanta Downtown is seeking a courteous and professional Server to deliver exceptional dining experiences in the restaurant, lounge, and banquet functions. You will greet guests, take orders, suggest beverages, and coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure accurate service.

The role emphasizes high standards of hospitality, strong communication, and the ability to stand for long periods. Evening and weekend availability is often required in a lively hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a server preferred.
• Ability to use arithmetic for totaling costs and making change.
• Strong communication skills to provide information and deliver service to guests.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as trays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
• Take drink orders and present the menu to guests, answering questions and providing suggestions.
• Relate wine recommendations when appropriate and relay orders to the kitchen and beverage services.
• Observe guests to anticipate needs and provide timely service.
• Clear and reset tables and assist with setup and cleaning of function rooms as needed.
