Job summary

Cavender's in Houston, TX is seeking a personable Cashier to deliver Best of the WEST service. You will greet customers, process transactions, answer questions, and help customers find solutions while keeping the sales floor tidy and stocked.

Ideal candidates excel at cash handling, multitasking, and communication in a fast-paced retail setting. Weekend and evening availability is preferred; training is provided, and the role offers opportunities to contribute to store success in a team

Qualifications

• Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to operate a Point of Sale system and handle cash and electronic transactions.
• Ability to lift, move, and position merchandise.
• Ability to safely use store equipment, including handheld devices, step stools, and dollies, in accordance with company policies.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Associate must be able to read and understand English.
• Associate must be able to stay alert and productive during assigned work hours.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and process transactions accurately, including returns and exchanges.
• Ensure merchandise is properly displayed and stocked, and assist with housekeeping tasks.
• Provide accurate product information and respond to inquiries in person and over the phone.
• Promote store programs, promotions, and suggested complementary merchandise.
• Maintain store safety and report concerns to management.
• Assist with merchandising updates and other assigned store tasks.
• Any other duties as assigned.
