Job summary

Vinayaka Hospitality in Chicago's The Blackstone Hotel is seeking a Maintenance Technician to carry out preventive maintenance, repairs, and service requests across hotel assets, from kitchen and laundry to HVAC and electrical systems.

You will monitor, document parts used, respond quickly to emergencies, and work under the Chief Engineer to keep facilities safe, efficient, and guest-ready. High school diploma and 6 months' related experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school certification.
• 6+ months of maintenance or related experience.
• Ability to operate HVAC, electrical, plumbing and repair tasks.
• Proactive, safety-conscious with teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all hotel equipment including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Monitor and maintain engineering functions when full staff is unavailable; respond to emergencies and notify authorities.
• Make rounds of the property to ensure systems are working properly.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas; document parts used and needed for purchases.
• Handle elevator maintenance and report unsafe conditions to leadership.
• Maintain Rooms PM and Request PM logs; complete daily work orders.
• Respond to calls promptly and keep logs up to date.
