Job summary

Sugarloaf Mountain Corporation's Big Sky Resort seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep guest rooms, condos, and public areas functioning smoothly. You’ll tackle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks with a focus on exceptional guest experiences.

You’ll work in the Mountain Village Base Area with a skilled trades team, handling on-call duties and off-season projects to keep the resort running year-round.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with basic home or trade repairs.
• Comfort using hand and power tools.
• Strong customer service instincts when interacting with guests.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays during peak seasons.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance projects in hotel rooms, condos, and public areas.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs such as leaks and fixture replacements.
• Perform basic electrical tasks such as outlets and light fixtures.
• Assist with HVAC upkeep and report issues.
• Complete carpentry and general building repairs.
• Respond to work orders and document work completed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance rounds.
• Assist with large scale projects during off season.
• Handle chemicals and hazardous materials safely.
• Interact with guests professionally when entering occupied spaces.
• Communicate status of repairs and follow up.
• Escalate guest concerns to supervisor when appropriate.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff across trades.
• Develop cross-department relationships to support timely resolution.
• Support on-call coverage during peak season.
• Pursue ongoing education and certifications as promoted.
