Job summary

The Kroger family of companies is seeking a Cashier/Checker to provide exceptional customer service and accurate checkout processing at our Coppell, TX store. You will greet customers, handle diverse payment methods, and ensure adherence to safety and loss-prevention policies.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, processing transactions, following promotional guidelines, and assisting with questions across departments to create a welcoming shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in-store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety guidelines.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; support and maintain equipment as needed.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products across the store.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines; work cooperatively in high-paced or stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and with integrity; resolve issues with guidance when needed.
