Job summary

Kroger in Richmond, TX is seeking a customer-focused Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding service at the front end. You will greet customers, process transactions efficiently, and maintain a clean, safe environment while upholding company policies and promotional knowledge.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, adhering to cash guidelines, handling various tender types, and supporting safe, welcoming store experiences for every guest.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers to create a welcoming experience.
• Process customer transactions quickly and accurately at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to cash handling guidelines and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow checkout procedures per policy.
• Stay current with ads and promotions and maintain food safety standards.
• Support safety programs and inspect equipment as needed.
• Provide product information and help customers across departments.
