Job summary

Hotel Hive in Washington, DC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team. You will look after the hotel’s interior and exterior, fix issues, and proactively create programs to prevent breakdowns. The role is non-exempt and pays $24/hour.

You will work under the Director of Engineering and Area Chief Engineer, maintain equipment, read MEP blueprints, and ensure guest satisfaction through reliable maintenance.

Qualifications

• 1+ year preventative maintenance preferred.
• Strong skill set in preventative maintenance, painting, and carpentry.
• Ability to move up and down stairs, lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Clear communication with guests and team.
• Basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature changes.
• Read and understand MEP blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions to guests.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and trim repairs.
• Test and troubleshoot equipment, plumbing, electrical components and guestroom items.
• Maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Organize daily tasks to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Adhere to safety and security policies and report hazards.
