Job summary

Cleveland Metroparks is seeking a Guest Experiences Associate to deliver exceptional customer service to zoo guests in a friendly, personable manner. You will verify tickets and memberships, direct traffic, operate attractions, and provide information about activities and events.

This role requires regular attendance, flexible schedules including evenings and weekends, and a commitment to safety as you assist visitors and help manage crowds.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance is required; flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Directs traffic, pedestrian flow, and parking in a safe, efficient manner.
• Accurately compares tickets by type, time and date to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Acts as host/hostess at tram/train stops.
• Answers visitor inquiries and shares information about activities and events.
• Engages guests in a friendly and positive manner.
• Operates small attractions (giraffe feeding, carousel, 4D Theater, etc.).
• Keeps supervisor informed of key issues or concerns.
• Maintains a safe work area and reports hazards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Guest Experiences Associate provides exceptional customer service to zoo guests in a friendly, personable manner at all times. The Guest Experiences Associate assists guests by providing information, access control by verifying tickets and memberships, providing parking lot control, operating attractions, and directing traffic and pedestrian flow.

Essential Functions:

• Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
• Directs traffic, pedestrian flow, and parking in a safe efficient manner
• Accurately compares tickets with type, time, date, and prevents unauthorized entry into the Zoo and other exhibits.
• Acts as a host/hostess at tram/train stops
• Answers inquiries of visitors and provides information regarding activities and special events.
• Engages guests in a friendly and positive manner.
• Operates smaller attractions such as giraffe and bird feed, carousel, 4D Theater, Contact Yard and other small attractions as assigned.
• Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
• Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
• Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
