Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Guest Services Agent to deliver Sonesta Service at the front desk, greet guests, handle check-ins, and support the Operations Manager. You will manage reservations, process payments, upsell rooms when appropriate, and ensure security of guest information while complying with health, safety, and alcohol-service policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of hotel or retail customer service experience preferred.
• Fluent English; other languages are beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math, budgeting, and variances preferred.
• Problem solving, organization, and training abilities preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• ServSafe certification required; TIPS certification may be required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on services and location.
• Answer phones promptly and courteously.
• Process cash and credit card transactions per procedures; post charges and prepare reports.
• Maintain security of cash, transactions, and guest information.
• May book reservations and upsell rooms to maximize revenue.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategies on pricing and room type.
• Coordinate with shifts and management to promote teamwork.
• Ensure guest requests are fulfilled and services delivered.
