Job summary

BLACK BEAR DINER HAYWARD is seeking a courteous server to greet guests, take and process orders, and ensure exceptional dining experiences. You will coordinate with kitchen staff, suggest beverages, and maintain a clean, organized station in a family-friendly setting.

The role requires punctuality, a professional appearance, and teamwork to deliver seamless service across breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts. Previous POS experience is a plus and Food Handlers Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Greet guests professionally and maintain friendly, family-oriented atmosphere.
• Take and repeat orders to avoid mistakes; communicate menu items and substitutions.
• Handle beverage service and suggest specials; manage delays politely.
• Maintain clean, organized work stations and follow 'clean as you go' policy.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests within two minutes of seating and introduce yourself by name.
• Take and enter orders into Aloha with any modifications.
• Coordinate with kitchen expeditor for specials or modifications.
• Check back with guests for beverage refills and after meals.
• Communicate any kitchen delays to guests and manage expectations.
• Ensure accuracy of guest checks and table numbers.
• Be a team player and uphold uniform standards and appearance.
