Job summary

Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman in Wailea is seeking a friendly, guest-focused server to join our service team. You will assist in preparing the dining area, greet guests warmly, review menus, and explain preparations and daily specials to guests.

You will take orders, enter tickets, pour wine, present checks, handle split payments, and ensure guests enjoy their meals. Strong communication, listening, and teamwork are essential to delivering exceptional hospitality.

Qualifications

• Customer oriented and able to follow MPK procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure in stressful situations.
• Identify and correct safety conditions and safely operate required equipment.
• Active listening and clear communication with guests and staff.
• Follow directions from supervisor and computer tickets.
• Work together with a team to achieve a common goal.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the restaurant for dining service.
• Set up the section with linens, silverware, and glassware.
• Greet guests warmly and personally.
• Review menus with guests and answer questions, offering descriptions and recommendations.
• Take and enter orders into computer system.
• Check IDs for alcohol service eligibility.
• Serve and clear dishes, and perform table-side prep as needed.
• Prepare guest checks and process payments, including split checks.
• Stock service areas with supplies such as beverages, tableware, and linens.
• Support the entire service team during the meal period to exceed guest expectations.
