Job summary

Ugly Dumpling is seeking a friendly server to welcome guests, take orders, and serve food and drinks with precision. You will communicate dietary needs, explain daily specials, and ensure a smooth dining experience in a fast-paced setting.

Applicants should have strong communication, customer service, and multitasking skills, with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing guest orders.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Compliance with Ugly Dumpling’s dress code and personal appearance standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and explain menu items and daily specials.
• Take accurate orders and communicate dietary needs to the kitchen.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and monitor guest needs.
• Address guest feedback politely and escalate to management when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and promotions.
• Enter orders and process payments using the POS system.
• Coordinate with kitchen and runners for smooth service flow.
• Assist with food presentation and uphold quality standards.
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Keep dining areas clean and stocked; support opening/closing duties.
• Collaborate with team to ensure guest satisfaction and assist with events.
