Colonial Williamsburg Foundation seeks a Guest Service Manager of Food and Beverage to lead the Williamsburg Lodge dining room and lounges. You will recruit, train, and evaluate staff to deliver exceptional guest service and ensure compliance across operations.

Collaborating with culinary to optimize service, you will manage schedules, costs, and quality control, while maintaining safety and regulatory standards in a historic, iconic venue.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Restaurant Management or Business Management with 2 years supervisory experience.
• 2-year degree in restaurant management with 3–5 years progressive experience, including 2 years supervision in fine dining operations.
• High school diploma or GED with 4–6 years progressive experience including 3 years supervision in fine dining operations.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to Virginia A.B.C. code § 4.1-307
• Working knowledge of food, beverage, service, and payroll cost control methods
• Strong knowledge of wine and liquor and bartending experience
• Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing
• Exercise high levels of tact and discretion
• Demonstrate extreme courtesy and hospitality in stressful situations
• Work flexible shifts that include nights, weekends, and holidays

• Oversee the daily operations of the dining room and lounge.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and local/state regulations; maintain logs and ensure safety, sanitation, and inventory controls.
• Monitor and control payroll and labor costs.
• Enhance revenue opportunities.
• Enhance and maintain guest service quality through staff training and standard menu knowledge.
• Manage employee performance to meet established standards.
• Plan and adjust staffing, costs, and inventory to meet budget and forecasted needs.
• Lead daily lineups, meetings, and trainings to align goals and activities.
• Ensure staff can describe daily specials and regular menu items in detail.
• Execute service standards to exceed guest expectations and train staff accordingly.
• Develop and adjust weekly work schedules based on business needs.
