Job summary

Hy-Vee in Peoria is seeking a Customer Service teammate in the Grocery department. You will provide prompt, friendly service, greet customers, help them find products, and ensure a positive shopping experience.

You will handle basic transactions, process mail and money orders per store procedures, and work with team members to maintain store standards in a fast-paced environment. Starting hourly wage is $15.00–$18.75 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables.
• Must be able to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Must be able to file, post, and mail materials; copy data; guide people and provide basic direction.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner and assists them by guiding to products and answering questions.
• Processes Western Union orders, sells money orders and cashes checks per store procedures.
• Answers the telephone and uses appropriate telephone techniques to assist customers.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
