Job summary

Ballast Wax is seeking an Assistant Center Manager to lead the floor, coach the team, and own the guest experience at our Mentor, OH location. You will drive sales, guide operations, onboard new team members, and act as leader-on-duty when needed. This role offers a clear path to Center Manager and beyond within a fast-growing EWC franchise.

The position emphasizes guest care, product education, and teamwork in a hands-on ambiente with a strong focus on growth and development.

Qualifications

• You've worked in a guest-facing role for 2+ years - beauty, spa, retail, hospitality, or similar - and you're genuinely good at it.
• You've led, even if it wasn't your official title. You've trained a new hire, run a shift solo, handled an escalation, or stepped up when it mattered.
• You're comfortable recommending products and services. You don't hard-sell - you educate. Guests trust you and it shows in the numbers.
• You know how to coach someone who's struggling without making it feel like a punishment. You lead with empathy and hold the bar.
• You genuinely love the beauty and wellness industry. You have a personal skincare or waxing routine, follow the space, and want to build a career in it.
• You're available when guests are - evenings, weekends (one shift, not both), flexible weekday hours. Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Guest Experience: Set the tone for every guest interaction - warm, professional, and consistent; address concerns and resolve issues before they escalate; ensure guests leave confident they'll return.
• Sales & Goal Achievement: Lead by example educating guests on Wax Passes, products, and services; motivate the team to hit KPIs; stay sharp on promotions and launches; support local marketing.
• Team Leadership & Culture: Coach on-floor staff, onboard new team members, maintain standards when CM is absent, lead the shift solo when needed.
• Center Operations: Own opening/closing procedures, maintain cleanliness and presentation, assist with POS, guest profiles, inventory, and daily admin tasks.
