Job summary

Dandelion Chocolate is seeking an experienced Assistant Cafe and Retail Manager to support our Chestnut St Cafe in San Francisco. The role combines leadership with frontline guest service, overseeing daily operations, onboarding, scheduling, and merchandising to deliver the world-class hospitality we’re known for.

You’ll work closely with the General Manager, coaching a diverse team, solving issues quickly, and upholding food safety and inventory standards while helping guests discover our

Qualifications

• Flexible Schedule – full-time role with daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
• Leadership Experience – at least one year in assistant management or supervision.
• Technical & Computer Aptitude – ability to develop checklists and training materials, manage email filters.
• Mechanical Know-How – troubleshoot ice machine and chocolate-warmer with service pros.
• Excellent Communication Skills – strong verbal and written communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Systems and Processes -- Maintain smooth daily operations, provide tools for team, audit checklists, manage deposits and inventory, maintain safety standards.
• Leadership -- Contribute ideas to optimize space, lead guest experiences, delegate tasks, work with GM to ensure hospitality at high levels.
• Hospitality -- Maintain high hospitality, mentor team, help design scalable systems for future locations.
• Goals and Results -- Use tools to track sales, equipment, and purchases to inform yearly goals.
• Other tasks as necessary
