Job summary

Five Below in Union City, NJ is seeking a Store Manager on Duty to lead daily operations and deliver WOW customer service. You will supervise crew, open/close the store, and ensure policies are followed while driving sales and controlling expenses.

Responsibilities include training associates, overseeing daily activities, receiving stock, maintaining stock room, and partnering with the store leadership team on merchandising. Flexible shifts include day, evening, weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and think creatively.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all crew members are Wowing the Customer through personal contact with customers.
• Trains the crew on the BEST customer service experience; ensuring that each guest has a fast, friendly check out experience.
• Oversee the daily activities of store associates, ensuring they perform duties effectively and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist with the receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock to ensure items are quickly placed on the sales floor.
• Act as Manager on Duty, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
• Manage opening or closing the store, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring daily readiness.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates on store policies, product knowledge, and procedures.
• Drive store sales and control expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Partner with the store leadership team in merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance including trash removal, sweeping, bathroom cleaning, and stock room upkeep.
