Job summary

Bunkhouse Hotel Magdalena in Austin, TX, is seeking a friendly Host/Hostess for the summer on Music Lane. You will welcome guests, seat them, and uphold the venue’s standards of service and hospitality.

The role requires strong communication, conflict resolution, and familiarity with Bunkhouse policies. Weekend availability, TABC and ServeSafe credentials are required, with a GED or high school diploma. 6 months hospitality experience preferred.

Qualifications

Weekend availability needed.
TABC and ServeSafe required.
High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
Six months related hospitality or service experience.
Ability to understand the primary language of the workplace.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to guest comments and concerns and inform supervisor.
Provide guests with menus.
Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs.
Inspect dining and serving areas for cleanliness and setup.
Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction and address complaints.
Receive and record dining reservations.
Coordinate with Kitchen, management, serving staff and customers.
Inform patrons of specials and features.
Direct patrons to waiting areas like lounges.
Operate cash registers and collect payments for food and beverages (if applicable).
Prepare cash receipts after close.
Supervise dining room staff to ensure prompt, courteous service.
Help hire and train other Hosts/Hostesses.
Assist planning functions or special events.
