Job summary

Hotel Maya is seeking an energetic Host to join our Food & Beverage team. As the first point of contact for guests, you will create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and set the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

You will manage guest flow, coordinate reservations, and support the service team to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate has strong communication, a friendly demeanor, and a passion for guest service in a fast-paced restaurant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Friendly, professional demeanor with a genuine passion for guest service.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival, creating a positive first impression.
• Manage guest seating, offer seating options when available, escort guests to their tables, and present menus.
• Coordinate reservations, maintain reservation records, and assist with arrangements for special functions and dining requests.
• Communicate guest needs, seating availability, and special requests to the service team and management.
• Read, maintain, and update the daily logbook to ensure effective communication between shifts and management.
• Maintain the proper setup, cleanliness, and presentation of the dining room and host stand.
• Monitor guest flow and wait times, keeping guests informed and comfortable during busy periods.
• Assist the Food & Beverage team with service-related duties as needed.
• Respond to guest questions and requests in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
• Follow established safety procedures, use required protective equipment, and comply with applicable OSHA standards and workplace safety guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
