Job summary

The Argonaut Hotel in San Francisco invites applicants for a friendly restaurant host/hostess role. You will welcome guests, guide seating, record reservations by phone or in person, and assist with paperwork and phone calls in a gracious, efficient manner.

Responsibilities include checking floor and tables for cleanliness, assisting in serving and bussing as needed, stocking the host stand, and providing guests with information while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude across shifts,

Qualifications

• Welcoming guests with a friendly, can-do demeanor.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays; AM/PM shifts.
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Willing to learn and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide fair and consistent seating of guests.
• Receive and record reservations by phone or in person.
• Accurately handle paperwork.
• Receive incoming calls.
• Take room service calls and orders (if necessary).
• Check floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness.
• Assist in serving food/bussing tables as needed.
• Maintain a clean podium.
• If any orders are "carry-out", package and check-out (if necessary).
• Stock host/hostess stand.
• Refill beverages as business demands.
• Provide information to guests as requested.
