Job summary

Thompson Hospitality is seeking a Host to warmly greet, seat, and assist guests, ensuring an exceptional experience across our dining concepts in Merrifield, VA. You will manage guest flow, answer questions, and uphold Matchbox quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires day-to-day hospitality professionalism, ability to stand for long periods, and flexibility to work weekends/holidays; prior upscale dining experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume, upscale casual dining or an equivalent service environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests and facilitates seating per timing and service standards.
• Communicate with guests in person and over the phone; ensure clear expectations.
• Maintain an organized, stocked work area including restrooms and exterior of the restaurant.
• Assist in clearing and cleaning tables; may involve lifting and cleaning agents.
• Know the menu and speak to it from memory.
• Take to-go orders and input into the POS system.
• Navigate reservation/guest management system quickly and efficiently.
• Follow proper safe food and beverage handling procedures per local standards.
