Job summary

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar in Michigan is seeking a host/hostess to greet arriving guests and acknowledge departures, seating guests according to the established plan, and help maintain smooth guest flow in the dining room.

This role requires excellent customer service, a friendly and outgoing personality, adherence to food safety guidelines, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. You should be able to stand for long periods and assist servers as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work as a TEAM.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Follow appropriate food safety guidelines.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to transport and carry objects such as a high chair or booster seat.
• Ability to wipe, sweep and carry plates to kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant and hold the door open for guests
• Seat guests according to the established plan and guests’ needs
• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean
• Ensure menus remain clean and stocked
• Complete restroom checks and refill paper products in bathrooms, as needed
• Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area as needed and resets the table
• Assist the servers when needed by taking the initial drink order or running food to the guests in the dining room
• Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and TEAM
