Job summary

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests as they arrive and assist with seating to ensure smooth dining room flow. You will welcome guests, seat them according to plan, keep the host area tidy, and support servers by taking initial drink orders or delivering food when needed.

The role requires standing for long periods, the ability to work evenings and weekends, and a strong focus on customer service and teamwork to create a welcoming dining

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work as a TEAM.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Follow appropriate food safety guidelines.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to transport and carry objects such as a high chair or booster seat.
• Ability to wipe, sweep and carry plates to kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they enter and depart the restaurant and hold the door open for guests.
• Seat guests according to the established plan and guests’ needs.
• Keep host/hostess stand and waiting area clean.
• Ensure menus remain clean and stocked.
• Complete restroom checks and refill paper products in bathrooms, as needed.
• Sanitize and wipe down all tables and sweep the area as needed and reset the table.
• Assist the servers when needed by taking the initial drink order or running food to guests in the dining room.
• Complete daily opening and closing work to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and TEAM.
