Eastern Standard is seeking hosts to warmly welcome guests and manage the door as part of a dynamic team in Kenmore Square. This role emphasizes hospitality, guest relationships, and efficient seating with OpenTable and Toast experience as a plus.

The Boston area restaurant group ES Hospitality offers a fast-paced environment where team members engage with BU students, residents, and industry professionals while providing excellent guest experiences and thoughtful service.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a passion for hospitality and be eager to work in a dynamic restaurant environment.
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to engage guests warmly.
• Effective communication with team and guests to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests into the restaurant with warmth and hospitality
• Send guests off with a thoughtful goodbye at the end of their experience
• Work to cultivate meaningful guest relationships to create return guests
• Manage reservations (table assignments, tracking table progress)
• Manage the wait list (quote times, manage expectations, offer waiting suggestions)
• Answer phones and return voicemails; assist in fulfillment of takeout orders
• Communicate with management and service teams to meet guests’ needs (special requests, allergies, celebrations)
• Prior experience with OpenTable and Toast is a plus
