Job summary

Cunningham Restaurant Group in Indianapolis is seeking a Host/Hostess for Livery. You are the first point of contact, greeting guests, managing waitlists and reservations, and guiding guests to tables with menus for a smooth dining experience.

The role relies on excellent customer service, strong organization, and the ability to stay calm in busy periods. Previous host/hostess experience is preferred but training is provided, with growth opportunities within the restaurant group.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly and outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Familiarity with reservation systems or software is a plus.
• Previous host/hostess experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Guest Greeting and Seating: Welcome guests, manage waitlists and reservations, escort to tables, present menus, and support seating decisions.
• Reservation Management: Take and confirm reservations, maintain an up-to-date reservation book, relay special requests.
• Guest Assistance: Provide information about the restaurant, assist with coat check, address inquiries professionally.
• Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with servers/kitchen, relay important guest information, manage guest flow.
• Waitlist & Flow: Keep track of waiting guests, notify parties when tables are ready, communicate wait times.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Keep host stand and waiting area clean and stocked, ensure menus and promos are accessible.
