Job summary

Denny's in California is seeking a Host/Hostess to greet and seat guests, manage the wait list, and help ensure an exceptional dining experience. The role involves cash handling, taking beverage orders, and assisting other team members to maintain smooth service flow.

The Host/Hostess will interact with guests with the brand’s guiding principles in mind and uphold uniform and grooming standards throughout shifts. This is a front-of-house position requiring strong guest service skills.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Meets Denny’s uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift.
• Must be able to work flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must have excellent guest service skills.
• Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions.
• Must place a value on diversity and shows respect for others.

Responsibilities

• Raise a tray weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Stand and walk for the full shift.
• Move, bend, reach and lift as needed.
• Operate the point of sale system.
• Provide courteous service and assist other team members.
• Seat guests and take beverage orders.
• Address guest concerns promptly.
