Brokedown Palace in Chicago is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests and manage seating during busy shifts. You will greet guests, assist with reservations, and guide them to tables or waiting areas, ensuring a smooth flow of the dining room.

The role requires standing for long periods, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Restaurant experience and familiarity with POS systems are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
• Does high-quality work while unsupervised.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
• Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
• Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Restaurant experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with energetic and positive attitude.
• Create and maintain a wait list if necessary.
• Use OpenTable effectively.
• Provide menus and answer initial questions.
• Seat guests at tables or designated waiting areas.
• Assign guests to tables while maintaining rotation for servers.
• Address complaints and escalate when needed.
• Answer calls, take reservations, and respond to inquiries.
• Know the food and beverage menu.
• Acknowledge guests as they leave.
• Maintain company culture.
