Job summary

Omakase Restaurant Group is hiring a Host for Shinka in San Francisco. The role reports to the General Manager and is a full-time, non-exempt position with compensation of $19.61/hour plus tips.

Shinka is a modern Japanese and French restaurant opening this October on the ground floor of The Jay, Autograph Collection in San Francisco's Embarcadero neighborhood. The role involves greeting guests, managing reservations, and maintaining service standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a similar role at a Michelin-level restaurant.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and basic computer programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Be able to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a genuine, warm welcome and maintain a polished, professional demeanor to ensure a high-level guest experience from arrival to departure.
• Use reservation software to manage incoming bookings, monitor seating rotations, and anticipate dining room needs in collaboration with FOH and BOH managers.
• Facilitate clear and constant communication between FOH, management, and the kitchen regarding guest flow, VIP arrivals, and service requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized areas and adhere to service standards and protocols.
• Manage incoming calls professionally and assist with reservation inquiries and messages.
