Shinka is a modern Japanese and French restaurant opening this October on the ground floor of The Jay, Autograph Collection in San Francisco's Embarcadero neighborhood. Led by Executive Chef Fumio Yonezawa, Shinka brings together Japanese sensibilities and French technique through the exceptional ingredients of Northern California, offering a refined, tasting-menu-driven dining experience rooted in tradition and innovation.
Service Excellence: Greet all guests with a genuine, warm welcome and maintain a polished, professional demeanor to ensure a high-level guest experience from arrival to departure.
Flow Management: Use reservation software to manage incoming bookings, monitor seating rotations, and anticipate the needs of the dining room floor, working with managers/supervisors in front and back of house to streamline service needs.
Communication: Facilitate clear and constant communication between FOH, management, and the kitchen regarding guest flow, VIP arrivals, special service requirements, and all other tasks required as assigned.
Operational Standards: Maintain clean, organized areas adhering to all Omakase Restaurant Group service standards and protocols.
Telephone Etiquette: Manage incoming calls professionally, assist guests with reservation inquiries, and take/leave messages when appropriate, such as when reaching out to guests to confirm reservations, or details thereof.
1+ years of experience in a similar role at a Michelin-level (or equivalent) restaurant.
Proficient with various word processing, spreadsheet, and basic computer programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight.
Be able to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time throughout the day.
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
