Job summary

The Ridley, Charlottesville, is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests and guide them to tables. As part of Thompson Hospitality, you will be the first impression of our dining experience, handling reservations, greeting guests, and answering questions about the menu and promotions.

Ideal candidates will be calm under pressure, possess excellent verbal communication, and be able to stand for extended periods while assisting front-of-house tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 6–8 hours.
• Lift and carry up to 20 lbs (menus, high chairs, booster seats).
• Reach, bend, and stoop occasionally.
• Clear verbal communication with guests in a busy environment.
• Remain calm and composed while multitasking in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Manage reservations and coordinate seating to optimize turnover.
• Provide accurate wait times and communicate status to guests.
• Answer inquiries about the restaurant, menu, and promotions.
• Maintain a clean host station and assist front-of-house duties as needed.
