Job summary

Flyover Attractions located in Chicago is hiring Guest Experience Guides (GEG) to ensure a fun, engaging and safe guest journey. Roles include Greeter, Flight Guide, Entry Scanner and Photographer, with shifts for part-time seasonal and full-time positions.

Your duties include greeting guests, sharing accurate information, capturing photos, guiding queues, and ensuring safety. Prior experience in tourism is a plus; all applicants welcome.

Qualifications

• Availability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to stand for extended periods indoors and outdoors.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
• Solid knowledge of Chicago and local area is a plus.
• Tourism/hospitality experience is an asset.
• Public speaking experience is an asset.
• Language skills beyond English are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and answer questions in a welcoming manner.

• Organize large groups and communicate wait times clearly.
• Guide guests around the attraction and assist with iRide gondolas.

• Communicate using radio protocol effectively.
• Assist with evacuation and shelter procedures in emergencies.
• Share knowledge about Navy Pier, Chicago and nearby attractions.

Job description

As a Guest Experience Guide (GEG), your goal is to facilitate the fun, engaging, efficient and safe movement of guests through the attraction. As a guide you may wear multiple hats as a Greeter, Flight Guide, Entry Scanner, and Photographer. You will have engaging interactions with our guests by bringing your best and anticipating guests’ needs while following Flyover standards and operating procedures. The Guest Experience Guides should always strive to maintain a positive attitude and a safe environment for all guests and team members.

We are hiring for seasonal part time and regular full time GEG positions. The wage for this role is $18/hr USD and a full breakdown of perks and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.

What you'll do

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reporting to the Guest Experience Supervisors, duties include, but are not limited to:
• Greeting guests and answering questions in a welcoming and positive manner.
• Ensuring accurate information is provided to guests in terms of experience, price, restrictions, and content.
• Capturing guest photos, while being knowledgeable about photo packages and backgrounds.
• Organizing large groups of people into correct queues, while calculating and communicating accurate wait time information.
• Directing guests around the different areas of the attraction and assisting them onto the iRide gondolas.
• Ensuring all ride and facility safety precautions are met and informing the Operator and Supervisors of any concerns.
• Lead by example to ensure Flyover Chicago operating procedures, safety of guests and team members, and service standards are consistently maintained by all team members.
• Communicate efficiently using proper radio protocol.
• Assist with evacuation and shelter-in-place procedures in the event of an emergency.
• Share knowledge with guests about Navy Pier, Chicago, and other tourist attractions around the venue.
• Other duties as needed

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge base about Chicago and local area
• Experience in the tourism/hospitality industry an asset

• Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset
