Job summary

Kroger in Atlanta, GA seeks a Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service, greet customers, and process transactions efficiently while maintaining a safe, clean store environment. You will use the POS system to handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, and loyalty offers in accordance with policy.

Responsibilities include following loss prevention guidelines, adhering to item restrictions, staying updated on ads, and assisting customers with product questions.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit and loyalty offers according to policy.
• Maintain awareness of cash handling limits and work to prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and adhere to pricing policies.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; support safety initiatives.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs to the appropriate department or store manager.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers, including minors and older adults, creating an welcoming environment.
