Qualifications

• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction) required.
• Experience as a cashier or courtesy clerk is preferred.
• Ability to greet, assist and engage customers in a busy store environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, cards, SNAP EBT, and other tender types per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow policies for restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and use loyalty programs and coupons.
• Stay aware of pricing discrepancies and report to Scan Coordinator.
• Maintain food safety and safety procedures; help keep equipment and store clean and safe.
• Assist customers with questions and provide a welcoming, helpful store experience.
