Job summary

The Kroger Co. is hiring a Cashier/Checker at 2600 N Broadway St, Pittsburg, KS 66762 (On-site).

You will greet customers, process transactions, and help shoppers quickly and accurately while maintaining a clean, inviting, and safe store environment. You will work with the POS system, handle cash, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and other tenders in accordance with policy, follow loss-prevention rules, and assist customers with questions, promotions and product locations; you will contribute to a

Qualifications

Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

Greet, engage and assist customers; be visible in the checkout area.
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
Understand the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers.
Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons; stay current with ads.
Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs; ensure store safety.
Assist customers with product questions to create a welcoming environment.
