Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to deliver an outstanding customer experience at the checkout. You will greet customers, answer questions and process transactions with accuracy and speed.

Responsibilities include operating the POS system, handling multiple forms of payment, preserving pricing integrity, and upholding safety, food safety, and store policies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Position Qualifications: Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker is responsible for greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and protect against loss.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items and other guidelines.
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Comply with safety regulations and identify unsafe conditions and needed repairs.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers of all ages and abilities.
