Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a friendly cashier/checker to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced store environment. You will greet customers, assist with purchases, and handle a variety of payment methods at the check lane.

Responsibilities include operating the POS system, ensuring accuracy, preventing loss, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for every shopper.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage customers.
• Basic math skills for transactions and making change.
• Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit payments and available tenders.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, loss prevention and company policies.
• Follow rules for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow coupon and loyalty procedures.
• Stay updated with current ads and promotions.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment and comply with safety guidelines.
• Provide helpful product information and answer customer questions.
• Work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
