The Friendly Toast in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Ambassador (host) to join our team. As a Toast ambassador, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and responsible for creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for our customers.

You will guide guests to seating, present menus, and explain specials to ensure a memorable dining experience. We value a positive attitude, strong communication, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve on the fly.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• A passion for food and willingness to learn about our menu offerings.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of specials.
• Ensure guests are satisfied and strive to exceed expectations.
• Take names on a waiting list.
• Manage the floor plan board.
• Monitor tables and track cleanliness and occupancy.
• Provide accurate wait times when tables are not immediately available.
• Stock and organize menus at host area.
• Answer phones and menu/restaurant questions.
• Engage with guests as they depart to ensure a positive dining experience.
• May fill to-go orders when applicable.
• Maintain restrooms during shift.
• Other duties as directed.
