Job summary

The Homegrown Hospitality Group is seeking a Host to warmly greet guests and seat them promptly as the first point of contact. This role ensures guests are seated in a timely manner and that all guest needs are managed with urgency in a friendly and helpful way.

The responsibility includes managing the seating waitlist, communicating wait times, and assisting with takeout orders while supporting the front of house team.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years old.
• Alcohol Safety Certification to be obtained within 7 days of training.
• Prior experience in restaurant or customer service preferred.
• Superior customer service and hospitality skills.
• Knowledge of sanitation, food safety and security procedures.
• Knowledge of Homegrown Hospitality Group menus and ability to suggest items to guests.
• Awareness of promotions and events to inform guests.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow service times while engaging guests.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm welcome to guests and ensure timely seating.
• Communicate wait times accurately and keep guests informed.
• Manage seating waitlist and balance tables for quality guest experience.
• Notify guests of specials and pass information to servers.
• Assist with takeout orders and answer phones as needed.
• Assist servers with running food and bussing tables.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and restock as needed.
• Address guest concerns with urgency and escalate to management when required.
• Thank guests and solicit feedback, inviting them to return.
• Support Front of House and help reset tables for new guests.
• Answer phones, take reservations and takeout orders as required by location.
• Balance cash drawer at shift start/end and help prepare restaurant for next shift.
