Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art seeks an Ambassador for the Visitor Experience team in New York. You will greet guests, guide crowds, process admissions, memberships, and event tickets, and provide exceptional service across multiple touchpoints. You will stay informed about current exhibitions and assist with special events and accessibility devices.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in customer-focused industries.
• Experience in high-traffic environments preferred.
• Proficiency with Tessitura and related VX technology.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Strong customer service and arts passion.
• Weekend and holiday availability required.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming presence for members and visitors.
• Learn and operate the POS system for admissions, bookings, and memberships.
• Guide visitors to queues and spaces to ensure smooth flow.
• Greet guests, answer questions, and resolve on-site issues.
• Stay informed about current exhibitions and programs; attend daily briefings.
• Scan tickets at entry points and for events.
• Maintain station readiness with maps and materials.
• Assist with special events and distribution of assistive listening devices.
• Encourage use of virtual queuing for select exhibitions.
• Process Member transactions and memberships in Tessitura; assist back-of-house reporting.
