Job summary

Kentucky Science Center in Louisville is seeking a Visitor Services Representative. You will be the first line of contact for visitors, handling admissions sales, theater seating, gift shop, and information requests.

With training from management and staff you will deliver a positive, energetic guest experience, assist with reservations, and maintain accurate daily balances and inventory. Part-time hours include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• A working knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to a positive visitor experience.
• Able to work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Able to work a flexible schedule: seven days a week operation.
• A team player with high emotional intelligence.
• A love for continuous learning and growth.
• A commitment to our mission, vision, values and service philosophy.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull with 75 lbs. of force.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb steps and sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Give accurate information to visitors 100% of the time.
• Serve a diversified public with a positive professional, energetic attitude.
• Effectively market Science Center products and programs to customers.
• Complete transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare accurate daily balance reports.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and well-stocked work area.
• Assist in inventory activities.
• Welcome guests to the theater and assist in seating.
• Make clear, professional public address announcements.
• Monitor theater during shows and report issues to staff.
• Maintain high level of theater cleanliness.
• Answer and return phone calls in a timely manner.
• Communicate and work in a team manner with co-workers and volunteers.
• Perform other tasks, as assigned.
• Report to work in a timely manner and maintain a strict time schedule.
• Maintain flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends, as well as holidays.
