Job summary

The SC Department of Children's Advocacy is seeking an experienced Case Worker to perform casework, court preparation and advocacy for children within the Guardian ad Litem program.

This full-time role requires strong discretion, the ability to supervise volunteers, and coordination with social services and courts; the benefits include 15 days of annual and sick leave, holidays, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with experience or equivalent combination as required by DSHR.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to train and supervise volunteers.
• Knowledge of computer applications and data entry.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform casework, court preparation and court attendance for cases without a volunteer Guardian ad Litem.
• Provide day-to-day case management and supervision for volunteers.
• Establish relationships with DSS, Family Court and other child-serving agencies.
• Assist with volunteer training sessions and recruitment as caseload changes.
• Complete any special assignments or tasks as directed by supervisor.
